Real Estate Lawyer & Engineer Inspector Recommendations

Would anyone recommend a lawyer and inspector for purchasing a house in Park Slope?
Anyone have experience with Kurt Roth or Jesse Gordon?  I recall seeing their names in the old forum, but for some reason I cant find it.

I would recommend Metropolitan Home Inspection. The inspector is very good and always able to be reached. The report was one of the better ones I have seen. 718 614.9060

I used Johann Groebler for the initial inspection. He did a thorough job, and he erred on the side of caution (borderline paranoia) in his report. I think all inspectors do this to cover their backsides and so we, their clients, can use the report to barter down the price. However, he doesn’t write anything down. Fortunately we did, because he missed something in the report, which he promptly corrected. Also, it’s tough to get him to work weekends, I think, because his main gig an architect.

The owner then fixed a few things according to the inspector report. And because we couldn’t get Mr. Groebler back on a weekend, we went with Lawrence Ubell for the follow-up. As per our agreement, he only inspected the parts of the house the seller had worked on. He too was very thorough, and because he wrote things down, the report included everything we saw and discussed during the inspection.

I’m not sure those are exactly recommendations. But it’s what I know, and I hope it helps.

I’ve worked with both numerous times and they are both a class act. Can’t say anything bad about either. They are also very accessible, more so that other attorneys that I have worked with in the past.
