backyard turf?

Has anyone installed realistic looking sythetic turf in their backyard?  The amount of watering required for grass is something that bothers me but I know my kids would love some grass to play in. I recently saw a house with very realistic turf but there was noone home to ask them more about it.

I just had a terrible experience with SynLawn so want to warn you.  I ordered about 300 square feet of turf from SynLawn about a month ago.  It comes in a large roll like carpet so it had to be delivered frieght.  They said they only deliver to BK on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I confirmed a day of delivery since I would have a crew of guys there that day to accept the package and install it. They confirmed my day when I ordered, but when I emailed the Thursday before, they stopped responding.  I emailed again Friday and then Monday with no response.  Low and behold, the delivery didn’t show up Tuesday after I had arranged with a client and crew to begin the install.  I understand things get held up but the fact that they disappeared was infuriating.  I was calling and e-mailing all day again to no response (they don’t actually have a central office, they hire an answering service to direct all the calls to the local rep).  At around 4pm that day I get an e-mail from Anastasia apologizing and saying there was a mixup and it was just leaving Georgia.  I found it unreal that an adult would be hiding and screening calls from us instead of simply having the courage to call and say things got messed up.  Obviously never using them again.  Ive used ProGreen for other jobs and they were great, better prices too.

Synlawn and Forever Lawn both make wonderful products. I don’t think the end user can purchase it, but you can call them and see who can sell it to you.
