You can check on 9th st entrance to lowes they sell them and you can also check Hicks plumbing located on Hicks st they have plain and decorative ones. Good luck

Hi brownstoners, I am looking for one last radiator to make my place completely toasty and, overall, balance my heating system – a pretty big old parlor radiator. To fit the space I want to heat, I needed something with a output of say 21K BTUs (preferably a combo of 36″ tall, about 15 sections, maybe 3-5 columns), and in the old style (if I can be really demanding here). 😉 Like the one in the picture – but, yes, bigger. Anyhow, does anyone have something like this that is taking up space, or know of a good source for used steam radiators (that won’t break the bank)? Thanks, SWR

I would try Cesar at Kevin and Richard Plumbing at 525 Park Ave in Brooklyn. He has a warehouse full of salvaged, working radiators. I got two fancy embossed cast iron radiators, had them sandblasted and powder-coated. They look great and function perfectly.

Big steam radiators like you describe heat unevenly. You are much better off with smaller ones with equivalent total capacity. If you do go ahead with this make sure it’s properly vented.

Stewardwasright, I paid about $125 each for 48″ tall, 5 sections. Very fancy embossed patterns. Plainer may be cheaper.
