Video Inspection of Waste Line

I had one done a few years ago… I think by Enono Plumbing or something? It was maybe $250? Money well spent. The beautiful thing about it is if they’re going to find cracks, they better be able to show them to you on the video! Altho it is against code, if possible, consider dumping the discharge from the sump pump onto the sidewalk not into the waste line. In an event like a hurricane, the waste line may be backed up and the pump won’t help. If you need a source for the pump and install, let me know.

In advance of embarking upon a basement waterproofing job (thank you, Brownstoners, for your prior answers to my questions on this.  I hired an engineer, who suggests constructing a sump pit at the lowest point in my basement and NOT doing any exterior work, YET), I need to have a video inspection of my waste line under my PS Brownstone.  Questions: what shoud this cost?  Does one plumbing company do a better job than others?  Have you had any personal experience having a video inspection done?  Do plumbers have any incentive to “find” cracks or other damage?
