Any way to view specifics of building permit or plans?
I’m curious about what a next door neighbor is building and while i can look up and see a basic description of the permits online (i.e. adding extension), I was wondering if there is any way to view more specific information, like how far back the extension will be built. I realize this may sound a little nosy, but we’ve had some valid cause for concern on our block with some of the new developments. Any ideas welcome, I figure it must be viewable online but i can’t locate it. Thanks all!

CarmenF– I would ask but I never see the neighbor since they just bought the building, only ever see the contractor and his crew. Thanks to all for the info- I found the full plans online.

There also may be constraints if you’re in a Landmarked area – the garden core is protected.

As a rule of thumb, unless the building is withing 30 feet of a corner, it is required to have a 30 foot rear yard. Most likely they will build an extension out to that point.
