Cell phone signal booster

Has anyone had any success with a cellphone signal booster like these… http://www.wilsonelectronics.com/store/index/category/47/large-areas Basically an antenna on the roof, amplified and retransmitted indoors through another smaller antennae. I’m in a Place block and I can get 3 bars of AT&T on my iPhone in the front of the house and none in the back. So im hoping I can use this kind of system to get better more consistent reception throughout the house. I would love to hear if you have something similar, what gear you use and how much you gain with it.

I have tMobile with MyTouch 4G. It automatically switches between cell signal and the WiFi VOIP. So my phone calls go over cell network when I am on the first floor but then it switches to WiFi when I go to the basement. Absolutly transparent feature. It even works when I travel abroad – in hotel phone connects to the local WiFi and I can call as it would be my US number and pay US internal rate. I think mytouch with tMobile would alliviate all your signal problems, but I am aware how hard to convice iPhone user to look at Android.

The problem isn’t the iPhone. It’s AT&T. I switched to verizon and problem solved. That siad if you’re mid contract your best bet is to get a femtocell from AT&T, they are available in the store for about $200\. It’s a one time fee. I tried the Z-boost first and ran a cable to the roof and mounted the antennae on a 10′ arial – it was still useless. The femtocell worked like a champ for about the same price. That said, The cell needs to be near a window to get a gps signal. It also needs a hard wired internet connection.

pssssst……its the iphone.  the wilson is the one to get though from my research like yours.  installation is a factor as well with the antenna type / directionality and 50 feet of clearance from the antenna.  i’ve got my eye on the AG Pro 70 – sorry i can’t give you any firsthand experience.  I had both AT&T and Verizon Iphone (switched to verizon bcs i thought it was AT&T) and my cell signal is the same craptastic 2 bars.  Neighbor next door have both AT&T and Verizon – crystal clear 5 bars on both.  I’m wondering if the iphone 5 is better – though i’ve said that through four $#*#&&##* iphones now.
