ISO Iron work recommendation for small job

Hi – The day has come and our washing machine has died.  It came with the house and we have no idea how the last owners ever got it into the home through all the narrow doors.  We think our best solution is to remove our metal door gate to give us a little more clearance.  Any suggestions on someone that can come remove it and reinstall a few days later?  We tried removing the pins ourselves but I believe the hinges are gatehouse hinges with capped ends. I tried Vinnie’s on Bergen and got a high estimate.  I have tried to reach Bay Ridge Iron but I worry they were affected by Sandy since they are near canal with no answer on the phone. Thanks! We used Piccolo Ironworks  recently for a job that required putting a hinge on a  window gate on a garden floor apartment.  Riccardo did a great job – showed up when he said he would and gave us a fair price.

have you tried appliance people? J&R in park slope is excellent. If washer is in basement they may have used cellar hatch to get it in… removing your front gate seems extreme measure and expense.
