Well folks for some of the long timers you might know the story – http://brownstoner.staging.wpengine.com/forums/topic/con-ed-being-aholes-but-we-are-persevering/ But the long and the short of it…..we finally got money out of coned for flooding our basement. I’ve just come back from the bank after depositing a $1900 ConEd check. lol they are still a$$holes in that they strung it out as long as they could but it is what it is and the good guys one the fight after all. In case you are wondering how we came to the figure basically they covered all of our labor expenses and pipes, parts etc and we went 50/50 on the cost of the hi-temp replacement sump pump (considering the old one was 50+ years old….fair enough). Shows once again that small claims does work….albeit very very slowly.
