Cost and recommendations for a good litigating attorney.

The cost of the lawsuit depends on how much you need to litigate it. You are going to pay hourly — this is not a contingency fee kind of case. Sue and settle? Or all the way through. Depends on you and your adversary. You want to move quickly and get it filed with a lis pendens so the property can’t move. Get estimates for hours spent on each phase, and decide how much this house is worth to you because, of course, you are adding to real price by paying a lawyer and you can’t finance. Whoever you get, get an estimate for getting a compalint drafted and filed — if the case won’t resolve quickly you may not want to go further. Sorry I don’t have a rec.

Our seller is in breach of contract and it appears that we are going to have to bring a law suit against them for specific performance. We have a strong case, have met all the contingencies of our contract, but the seller wants to back out for more money. We’ve met a lot of transactional attorneys but cannot seem to get a good rec for one that litigates.Any recommendations out there for a reasonably priced attorney? Does anyone with experience know ballpark what a lawsuit like this might cost?  Thanks M
