Screens for Casement Windows?
I have a 2-part question: We are moving into a new construction building with casement windows and none of them have screens – this seems to be the norm. 1) what do people do to protect their cats? Are there screens you can get at all? And are there the kind that have a small window so you can get to the handle to open and close the window? 2) Are landords legally obligated to provide you with screens if you ask for them? We do not have young children. Just the cats. Thanks for your help!

Marvin make a line of windows with integrated retractable screens built in to their casement windows.

Depending on the specifics of the window, if the casements open outward, the screens would need to be installed on the interior side of the window. You will definitey want screens to keep out mosquitoes and flies unless you have central AC, and even then I’d want the option. Landlords provide window guards for children, not screens.
