replacing formics countertop
I used Lowe’s on 2nd Ave for a countertop installation. It was all in all pretty pleasant. I had to call once for scheduling, but other than that they were on top of everthing (pun only mildly intended), the counter sub-contractor was helpful and efficient, and the installation was totally fine. I’ve had it for a year and so far so good.

Has anyone used either Lowe’s or Home Depot recently for replacing countertop, sink and faucets (not cabinets)? Good experience? Bad?

I just ordered countertops at the 23rd St Home Depot store. It was a surprisingly pleasant experience. I worked with a designer named Paul. He was very easy to work with, knew his stuff, and followed through on everything he said he would. We haven’t had the installation yet, but I know they work with a firm called Counter Intelligence who does the actual measuring and install. Counter Intelligence called to follow up. So, so far, so good.
