Has anyone used Federal Conservation Corp to insulate cockloft ?

Did anyone compare them to Brooklyn insulation? I think that Federal Conservation uses fiberglass and Brooklyn Insulation uses cellulose. But Federal Conservation gives an exact quote ($3 per square foot) and Federal Conservation’s is harder to figure out — sounds as if it could be significantly more expensive.

I am thinking about using Federal Conservation to insulate the cockloft/below flat roof of my house in Bed-stuy. My house does get drafty in the winter, this seems a better option than blowing injection foam into my walls. if you have used them, any feedback would be helpful. Also, was it worth it, did you notice any difference. He quoted me $3.00/Sq.ft? is that reasonable. Thank you. B.

They insulated my cockloft last winter. Great guys, quick and clean install. According to my tenant, that was complaining about the top floor being colder than the 2 lower floors, it made an instant difference. The heat lingers a lot longer and doesn’t escape through the roof. I would highly recommend. Good Luck!

Highly recommend doing it and highly recommend them. I did it in the Winter of 2008 so it was a little bit cheaper but not much. Instantly noticed a warmer top floor. They recommend installing two roof vents as well, which should be done.

DIBS/SP2Dean thank you for your feedback, I had them come in this morning. DONE! Chipito: they cut two holes on the roof and blow the insulation from there; they cover the holes with vents. No holes inside the house, nothing to patch, no mess. The whole thing took about 2 hours… Thanks, B.
