Forced Air Heating problem
I have a 10-unit building with forced air heating. Most are studios. One apartment seems to be a lot cooler than the others. I have several sensors in apartments that control the system for the entire building. I can opt to average all the sensors or pick one or more to control the system. One sensor is in the apartment in question. It is not unusual for the two top-floor apartments that are next to each other (both have the sensors) to have a 12F difference (although the cold apartment is larger and has more windows than the hotter one, but both have the same western exposure). The windows are double-paned and sealed, and the roof is insulated. Other tenants are complaining about it being too hot! The single register in the cold apartment does blow hot air, although I don’t know if somehow only some of the hot air is coming through. The heat distribution seems original to the building and is in the walls, although there is a nest of pipes coming out of the furnac e in the basement. Any suggestions for solutions and/or recommendations for heating contractors familiar with troubleshooting this kind of system? Thanks as always.

If u check forum under havac/air forced systems, there might be some recommendations from earlier threads !!!

Thanks. OP here. Does anyone have recs for an HVAC contractor to troubleshoot the ductwork? At this point, while an obstruction has not been ruled out, I suspect that particular duct is smaller than others, restricting the flow. I wondered if a booster fan could be put inside the duct by the furnace, triggered when the system goes on?

Had a similar problem and sounded like the same set up. It was a simple case of there being a blockage in the ductwork between the top 2 floors. Contractors found it so I don’t have much detail as to cause. I think they had a way to scope it or maybe they just stuck their head in with a flashlight and looked around. Good luck!
