Air-conditioning maintenance

Advice on air-conditioning maintenance. I’d like to take extra care with my central air conditioning units. I am looking into getting regular maintenance. The company I called will come twice a year. But they want $2,400 a year. I do have 4 units, so that would be $600 each. It seems a bit high. Or is this the going rate?
