Radiant Flooring contractors + approx cost?

It is not price you have to look for but a contractor. Radiant heating system is most expensive one and most easy to screw up. Do not shop by price. I’v seen horror installations which were extremely expensive to fix, and people were not capable to find anyone to do these fixes.

We’ve been trying to find Radiant Flooring contractors and are struggling to get someone to call us back, including some folks mentioned in forum archives. The one quote we received was exorbitant. Any recent reco’s? We would like to install on the first floor (existing is hot water radiators) of our two family. If the price is doable, we would consider the 2nd floor too. What have you spent to install yours? (our floor is approx 1200 square feet).

You need to define what you mean by “exorbitant”. Radiant is significantly higher priced than is forced air. If you’re giving off the vibe that budget is the most important thing to you, then you’re not going to get a lot of call backs. It would be polite if people would tell you that what you think is exorbitant is normal pricing, so either up your budget or downgrade your wants, but not many contractors will come right out and say that. They’ll just not respond at all. Which is what you’re getting.

I’m not giving off any vibes. But $18K without the actual instal of the underlayment is crazy in my book
