Wood Refinisher

Highly recommend Daly’s SeaFin Teak oil. Apply it and then wet sand it with very fine sandpaper – it’ll give you a beautiful glowy satin finish

We have stripped all the wainscotting, doors and window casings in the hallway and front room of the garden floor of our house. We now need to find someone to refinished the beautiful oak woodwork. Any recommendations for a good wood refinisher?

You’ve already done most of the work. Two or three coats of Minwax Antique Oil Finish will do a wonderful job on oak. The stuff isn’t that widely available any more, But Amazon sells it It’s easy to use, but wear ggloves and wait for warm weather–you’ll need ventilation.

I used tung oil [also Minwax brand] on one piece of furniture. The results were similar to Antique Oil Finish, although, IIRC, it took a couple more coats. Watco Danish Oil Finish is also good. I’ve mostly used Minwax AOF on furniture, but I did use it for the woodwork on the ground floor of my house.
