Winter Tree Sap
I cut a couple of 4” diameter, low branches, off of a big old pine tree in my backyard.
Everything looked fine until it started to get cold.
Now, a sticky white sap is seeping from the areas where I cut the branches.
Anyone have a home made tree-ointment which can be applied to eliminate the running sap?

I don’t think you really need to do anything, but nurseries sell tree wound preparations.
