Will wireless doorbells work for an 1890 Brownstone?

Our wired doorbells can’t be patched in any longer so we are looking to either re-wire or install wireless. Our electrician tells us that older Brownstones can have frequency issues with wireless due to their thicker walls. Does anyone have experience with this they can share? Thanks!

We need a system where we can reach three separate apartments each with its own bell (ground and 1st on one bell; the second and third floors each on their own bell. Does your wireless chime have different chimes for each apartment or are you using one chime for the whole building (as for one occupant)?

FWIW I placed the wireless chime on the wall of the stairwell between my ground and parlor floors; we can hear it on all three floors.

Well in fact, most delivery people, especially Amazon Logistics and now FedEx won’t even ring doorbells!!! You should be able to find a system that will work. Some do come with boosters. You didn’t really make it clear what features you’re looking for but one like the Ring system that works through WiFi to your phone will definitely work.

Our electrician says that the wireless don’t usually work on the upper floors. Do you have luck reaching your third and fourth floors? What wireless doorbell do you use? The issue why this is important is that so many people like home deliveries that we need the doorbells to work (delivery people don’t use their mobile phones to my knowledge). Thanks!
