White Oak Wide plank eco flooring
Hi All, I am looking for a good source/vendor for White Oak wide plank “eco” flooring.
I like this company in the Netherlands….but need something closer. http://www.dennebosflooring.com/en/collections/
Have brownstoners had success with wider plank flooring? Warping? Installlation? My contractor will likely install. We are redoing the ground level kitchen and ‘middle room’ Thanks

Try PID Flooring or Madera Trade. The warping only happens if you’re installing solid wood floors, but 90% of the time in NYC, we install engineered floors, which do not warp. Installing wide plank is no harder than a narrow plank, and is less labor (fewer planks).

Check out Pioneer Millworks in update NY. Amazing reclaimed wood floors. We bought beautiful Douglas fir t&g from them 20 years ago that we will love forever. Most of their woods are pretty rustic but they have a white oak that’s more sophisticated.

Properly seasoned wood doesnt warp. Old wood doesnt warp. Floors should never be glued down as wood moves with warm/cold seasons.

Check out Hull Forest Products, they are in Connecticut and their quality is top notch. As for installation and concerns of warping, it depends on a lot of factors. As long as the subfloor is flat and solid, and the planks acclimated, glued down, nailed down properly, and there’s no humidity issues, they should not warp.
