Where to get a load of mulch

Right. They used to or still give locally processed mulch away at socrates park. But its from local trees and i don’t see any cedar around.

I see a number of people gave up on trying to grow grass in their northern facing BKLYN backyards. I’m doing the same & am going to put in cedar mulch/playground mulch to over the grass (the grass has never stayed long). Can anyone reco a place to deliver cedar mulch? thanks

Yes, I still like the cedar mulch. I have to add more every couple of years, but that isn’t a big deal—a half dozen or so bags. IIRC I initially used about 20 bags, laid down over landscape cloth.

We have a south facing garden and could never grow grass. Neighbors just laid sod. It should be gone by the end of the calendar year. We now have a combo of vinca and cedar mulch, along with lots of shrubs and perennials.

Mulch is free at Greenwood cemetery but you’d have to get it yourself or hire someone to load and deliver it.

But the free mulch isn’t cedar and may disintegrate more rapidly
