Engineered stone or quartz it is called. Different from quartzite which is a natural stone, this material is made from combining marble dust or similar with a plastic resin binder to create a surface which is something like plastic, but a bit heavier and more durable like stone. The plastic is about as non-porous as you can get, so it has that over stone. However if you put a hot pan from the stove on the surface it can scorch it. For this reason, I would probably not choose it for a rentals.
For a low end rental, laminate will get the job done, and can be replaced cheaply. If your renter’s want the lowest rent, they will be satisfied with laminate countertops, particularly if you choose nicer ones.
If you’re trying to attract a bit higher rent, and you have other finishes to match, I think granite is very durable, and can look quite nice, and doesn’t have the low rent look of laminate. A tile countertop is another option that may work for a renter looking for something better than landlord special laminate, but isn’t ultra picky.
If you’re looking to really wow your tenants, engineered stone is a possibility, but consider that it will be more expensive to replace if they damage it, and wear and tear on the surfaces is not something a tenant is concerned about. There are other natural stones that could work well, but I would consider avoiding materials that easily scorch, chip, or etch if I could.

I can’t tell either. Engineered stone or corian? Slate (like in chemistry lab) and stainless steel might be durable. None of these options are inexpensive.

i cannot see that this well and in truth i only know about a few of the types of countertop. i cannot even tell if that is a stone or plastic from the photo. if you help with that i can tell you a couple of things (i used quartz in my own house) and I have a friend who was a certified corian installer and there is a company in woodside that makes a type of plastic counter top that we installed in a commercial building a couple decades back now. if i had a rental i would probably either go with granite which i believe to be impervious or a manmade material such as the corian or the plastic. the thing we liked about the plastic is it was solid color throughout and if scratched is less of a problem. the quartz chips. marble stains. and the plain old formica laminated counter top will chip at the edges and they seem to delaminate frequently (we don’t see them anymore; i used to make them).
