What are the ways to verify a buildings gross square footage? I.e. Zola, DOB, CS

If you’re looking at something that’s a recent filing, you can look at the ZD-1 form, which will give the outside dimensions, show the number or floors, etc. You can then to the math to get the gross s.f. of each floor. Depending on the building, zoning square footage will be less than gross, and there’s no real way to see how they calculated the zoning w/out having access to the filing plans.

For the ZD-1, look up the property on the DOB’s site, then click on jobs/filings on the lower left. Then click on the right job #. Then on ‘virtual job folder’ at the top, and then on the ZD1 link.

I would think you either need to see it or need accurate floor plans. Perhaps best to get floor plans and then go see it.
