Water Problem

Based on my experience with leaks on roofs and otherwise (a personal tragedy to even have to write that) whomever is going to fix this is going to want to get down to the starting point, otherwise no sane individual would warrant the work. If they’re not doing all of the work, they’re not going to warrant all of the results, which seems only logical.

In my opinion, take the plunge now – pull up the tile and have the roof well and truly inspected to get to the root of the problem, otherwise you might end up paying more to bring people back in to try and try again. Roof leaks can be insidious if not properly diagnosed and dealt with.

Good luck – dry days are ahead.

We renovated a row house, added a rooftop bedroom set back with a deck that sits above the house. The GC put on a new roof and a tile guy put tiles over it (probably 20′ x 6′ area). Water is leaking in a pretty major way (can see drips, drywall peeling off) into bedrooms below. Before ripping up tile (that probably should never have been put down on a roof) id like to hire a water specialist (exist?) to locate exactly how the water is getting in, ideally that person can also do the repair. But right now basic roofers seem to be guessing how its getting in. I have the feeling we will have to chip up the tile but i need some help to find a qualified and trustworthy provider. thank you!
