I have had my water tested and need to replace the led main from the street. The water pressure in my upstairs shower isn’t great and the tub takes a long time to fill. A newly installed toilet doesn’t completely flush. Would the larger pipe – 1 1/4″ help ?

It wouldn’t help for the problems you’re describing. Regardless of water pressure, your toilet’s water level inside the tank fills up to a certain level and then stops, when you turn the lever, all this water is released down, and the tank starts to fill up again. You might have to adjust the water level, sometimes it isn’t set correctly. As for the shower/tub, it’s most likely fed by old piping thats 1/2 inch. Shower head could be low flow too, does take awhile to fill up a tub regardless though…. The price difference between 1 or 1 1/4 pipe isn’t that much, might as well future proof it a bit by going a size larger.

Maybe consider sizing the line for a potential sprinkler system in case that is later necessary to do.
