venting gas stove through roof for top floor apt.

I would like to vent my new gas stove outside; since I am on the top floor I can vent it through roof; who does this type of work;

Our stove vent (eg microwave) vents directly through the roof so i know its legal to do so because we filed our gut renovation/its on the plans with DOB etc.

Are you talking about venting the hood? Stoves don’t have exhaust.

We did this but as part of overall construction. I assume you mean the air vent and not the gas. Any kitchen contractor or GC should be able to help but you may need to go with a small firm or handyman/contractor as for some GCs it might be too small a job. You can look on Yelp for handyman and try to see if any have kitchen experience.

To go directly through the roof you need fire stops etc.
It is easier to vent through the back wall.

a roofer. but you need someone to install the hood and duct on the inside, so start with that and let them either do the vent themselves or find a roofer to do it.
