Upgrading Heating System

I would love some recommendations on an efficient heating system. Some facts:
Old brownstone house. 3 floors, 2 apartments. All the heating piping is PEX. Radiators are installed. Every floor is a heating zone.

I don’t want to change out the type of heating (sticking with water radiators), just the furnace. What is generally considered the best option here in Brooklyn? I have an old Oil heater at the moment.

First step is to call National Grid; you may only be able to replace it with another Oil fired unit as National Grid is no longer offering any Oil to Gas Conversions due to the NESE. If you have a dual fuel then you may have some options though.
