Trespa Exterior Home Siding
We’re thinking about using Trespa Pura NFC siding for the back facade of our home. The sample looks great, but I worry that the faux wood look may look cheap on the house. Does anyone had positive experiences with Trespa or other wood siding alternatives?

Hi daveinbedstuy and jimhillra, thank you for the quick responses! Really appreciate it and i’ll research the Hardie Boards. DIB- I was referring to the raised graining when referring to the “Faux Wood” look. On a computer screen it looks good, but I worry it will look fake and tacky when looking at my house up close. Hope that helps to clarify and thank you again!

I’ve seen Trespa wood grain panels used on a building close to the Gawanis, and it looked good until I got close enough to see where it was deteriorating at the edges of the panels. I was very unimpressed by that. However, that was probably the Meteon product, which I believe is more of a screened on patter. The Pura is more of a solid, synthetic, so it would probably last longer. I’d be interested in seeing how it compares to Hardie products.

I have used Hardie Board on two homes and love it. I agree that the woodgrained side looks rather cheesy. Boral is a newer option. I believe it’s more expensive but my contractor loves it. I believe he’s only used it for trim so far. I think one of the things he likes about Boral is the bevel on the clapboards. But neither Boral nor Hardie come in a natural wood finish of that’s what you are looking for. Also I wasn’t sure when you mentioned “the faux wood look” you meant a raised graining or the faux stain colors.
