Toilet recs needed

Anybody suggest current models that you are happy with? I want something standard, reliable, and no fancy features needed. Extra points if you suggest someone to replace it.

Longer story: We have a weird toilet that is broken and finding replacement parts isn’t going well (I’ve tried two plumbers who said they’ve never seen anything like that) and the things online that look similar from that brand are pricey at $80+, slow to ship, and may still not work. All that to say, we may be looking to replace it ASAP (we like having a working toilet, what can I say) since we’ve never loved it–it’s a dual flush model that has never worked quite right.

We empathize — I had a beautifulToto (not Entrada) that I loved – it flushed well and looked pretty – but the parts like the flush valve, etc. were not of the “go to Home Depot and pull something off the shelf” variety — it was a Toto pain in the ass. Since we had to replace the flush valve every few years and that was a production, I vowed that the next toilet we bought would be the average Joe kind.

To that end, we just bought a run of the mill, buy-at-Depot-universal parts-accepting Kohler Santa Rosa because the reviews were so universally good, it wasn’t all that expensive even in black, and it’s pretty nice looking, though not-super design forward.

What We like about the Toto Entrada , besides it’s small size, is that, although it’s a modern design, rather than an antique repro, it works with an old-fashioned-looking bathroom.

About two years ago we replaced the toilet in our half bath with a Toto “Entrada” which is inexpensive, small-looking (although it fits a standard rough out) , neat, and flushes well using very little water. that said we have several koehler ones that were around $250 and they are fine.

any plumber will install it. try Hlad plumbing, they do good work.
