Thermostatic Shower Body
I love our Grohe Chrome 19168000 Atrio Lever Integrated Thermostatic Trim shower control…….this said they’ve discontinued it-have no idea why as works perfect.
I bought up a spare one cheap when i saw they were getting rid of the Atrio range.

Looking for any advice or experience with brands or models of thermostatic shower bodies. We’re renovating our whole house and looking to put in thermostatic shower bodies for three bathrooms … Master bath, kids bath, and guest bath.
For the master bath, we’re aiming for a rain shower head + hand held (freestanding tub separate with its own faucets). Kids and guest bath will be shower and tub together with possibly an additional hand held for the kids bath.
Also might be worth mentioning that each bathroom will be setup with its own tankless electric water heater.
Thanks!

Are you going for function or aesthetics?
When choosing the brand, remember one major thing our clients always brush over: the more unique and specific you go, the harder (and more expensive) they are to repair.
Waterworks have some amazing beautiful pieces that could be showcased in magazines, but when the handle breaks or the cartridge wears it could take six (6) weeks to six (6) months for a replacement because they are custom cut.
Kohler has some beautiful finishes as well, and most can be repaired the same day.

I personally like hansgrohe, the rough in valve is easy to install, and the thermostatic cartridge/body can be easily replaced at any point in the future (though highly unlikely you’ll ever need to)

Go with a major brand like Grohe or Kohler (Restoration Hardware on the higher end) for the reason Chris said above. I’d pick the style of fixture and the finish I wanted first. When you do that, the control valve is usually specified. They all accomplish the same function.
