On Hancock St. where I live, there’s an empty lot that was the home of the wonderfully gifted architect, Montrose Morris. Evidently there was a fire at the house in the 70’s, and they tore it down. I don’t think they’d be doing that today. I’ve always been curious of what that house looked like, so I went to the 1939 Tax Photos…. https://nycma.lunaimaging.com/luna/servlet/detail/NYCMA~7~7~889157~766340:234-Hancock-Street?sort=borough%2Cblock%2Clot%2Czip_code&qvq=q:234%20Hancock;sort:borough%2Cblock%2Clot%2Czip_code;lc:NYCMA~7~7&mi=3&trs=8

I love that row and the corner house is one of my favorites! Check out this article with some illustrations of what the interior looked like: https://www.brownstoner.com/history/brooklyn-history-architecture-montrose-morris-bed-stuy-wedding/
