Tenants being difficult granting access for broker to show apartment
I have a hi-end condo which the current tenants are moving out of shortly. My broker wants to do a 1-hour open house one day of the weekend and the tenants always manage to have an excuse to not grant access. The lease agreement clearly allows access to the property for marketing the property. How should I handle this situation?

You have a key. Just tell them, don’t ask them. Say you are having an open house this Saturday from 10-3 or whatever, and the lease says you get to, so suck it up. I’ve seen places where the tenant hid cut onions all over the place during the showing. I understood and it didn’t affect my opinion of the place. Tenants don’t like showings, and everyone is used to that.
