Unfortunately it is a pretty defined process that you cannot circumvent without breaking policy and code.
Biggest question to ask before it gets started is if the meter just connects to the stoves or if any connect to a Heat and/or Hot Water unit as well.

What is the best sequence of steps to convert from gas to electric?
I got the electrical scope in place and want to take care of the mechanical before he comes in.
Should the gas line to the stoves be capped first then the meters removed? is it okay to remove the meters before doing this? Or should they be locked, lines capped then meters removed?
Also ideally looking to minimize amount of contact and conversation with National Grid,.

If it were me, I would get the new stove up and running and be sure I am happy with it before I capped any gas lines or removed any meters. Can’t ever get them back.
