I bought a vintage Eames fiberglass shell chair, and soon after, one of the “shock mounts” that attaches the wire frame to the base cracked and came off; one art of the base also needs to be re-welded. Does anyone know a furniture repair person who would do this for a reasonable price? I contacted one place in Manhattan that will charge $425, which is more than I paid for the chair.
