Smell in Bathroom During Heavy Rainfall

I’ve begun to notice an unpleasant odor coming through my bathroom sink drains whenever there’s a heavy sustained rainfall. New Year’s Eve was particularly bad – it rained for much of the day into the evening. Is this a sewer line issue? Should it be snaked? Thanks!

Could it be a blocked roof vent?

It is not coming from your sink drain; assuming that you have a U bend under the sink in the waste line? The water trapped in the U bend is there to stop smells, gases etc.
