Slate fireplace mantle needs to be repaired - who to call?
The lovely slate slabs on our original fireplace mantle fell off with a loud crash the other night. This fireplace is not currently in use. Not sure if this a job for a fireplace person, or maybe just a marble installer/tiler type? Any advice or recommendations on who to call is wecome!

if pieces came off and you are not interested in putting them back on, that is not really in the mason’s wheelhouse. a stone person should handle that. i went into a stone shop in Maspeth a couple of years back and they were building a mantle from scratch there.

Did they break? If the are whole, you can reattach yourself with construction adhesive.
If you are not needing pieces cut, some of this might be handymanish.
