slate fireplace mantel

the summer front in my tenants unit has been wedged into the fireplace and I have to get in to the firebox of an unused fireplace to seal it up – any suggestions for a contractor who can deal with a shaky slate mantel??

See if one of the Brooklyn chimney masons can handle this. Maybe Andre Buchanan at A&A Chimney & Fireplace: 718-953-2836. He’s knowledgeable and honest. We have slate fireplaces and — if yours are similar — they come apart into separate pieces which can then be re-assembled.
