Skim coating recs
Hello! I’m looking for skim coating recommendations because the prices I’m getting vary wildly. I’m looking to do my parlor floor, which is around 900 sq ft and was hoping to keep it under 10K, maybe even closer to 7K. I’m not sure if that’s possible, but I’ve read messages on the board where people have gotten it done within that price range. Thanks!

Cate is correct. It is crucial to use plaster weld and mesh, loose plaster should be removed and cracks should be dug out.. There should be very little sanding necessary at the end.

Be sure you use someone who specializes in plaster, not drywall, painting or general construction. They should use PlasterWeld, fiberglass mash, and folding scaffolding. Their work should be smooth and level and they should not need to do much or any sanding.
