Sinking floor under fireplace

sounds like you have what i had. Arched bricks under where the fireplace hearth is/was. They are between the fireplace structure and a beam that holds up floor. You can remove the brick, they weren’t put there for structural support, but more as fireproofing. After removal, all it takes is some framing and plywood to close everything back up.

I discovered the floor under my fireplace sinking in my garden apt. I went to the basement and saw some sagging due to loose bricks and there is no subfloor. This is all directly above my boiler. I have already taken apart the fireplace and removed it so it doesn’t fall into the boiler. Can anyone recommend an engineer and a contractor who can advise on what needs to happen? Thank you.
