Seeking a Construction Superintendent for a Renovation Project

Hey – Thanks everyone. I’m in touch with several people about the issue. I will update here after I’ve made a decision. Needless to say, this is an extremely frustrating burden to be saddled with. Our project is expected to take 10-12 months so you can do the math.

Hi – I am the owner of a three story townhome in the Brooklyn Navy Yard area. I am about to pull permits for an extensive renovation, but need a Construction Super on board because we are creating a rear addition and DOB now requires this. I’m hoping someone can provide a recommendation or if you are a licensed super reach out to discuss. Note there is a contractor in place, but they are not licensed so we just need someone to handle the daily safety logs and DOB requirements. it looks like you will need to pay at least $1250/week to get an architect or engineer to cover this …good luck

Thanks, are the rules of what a Super needs to do written anywhere? Daily site visits but does that mean all day? I was thinking $1500/week but if it’s close to someone they may do it for less.

Many GC’s, at least those that do this kind of project, already have certification for the third option. It’s not too onerous, so you may want to request it of your GC.
