I have two cellar doors on my brownstone, one next to the stoop and one in the backyard. They’re the flat kind, like a metal square door on the ground. They are both pretty banged up and rusty despite having been repainted with rustoleum recently. As a result, water is leaking in when it rains.

I’d like to replace them with new metal doors in a way that is both waterproof and corrosion proof. What are my options?

I agree with GreenThinker, but at the end it depends upon how you handle it! I would suggest that you consult a couple of windows and door service people so that they can tell you more about this, when I had a similar problem I consulted STB Remodeling ( http://stbremodeling.com/windows-doors/ )people and they did a pretty good job!
