Roaches coming in through sump pit

Following as we have same issue.
Years ago we called M&M environmental and they put some sort of foaming chemical down all the drains and the pit and it worked amazingly well – not a single water bug for several years. We started getting them again over the summer so I called M&M back (totally worth the cost if it’s only once every 3-4 years!!) — I don’t know if they changed their chemical process or whatever, but this time not only didn’t it work, it has **increased their quantities 🙁 So – any other leads out there also much appreciated.

Our coop building seems to have roaches (the large “waterbug” variety) entering the basement area from in/around our sump pit (yeech). We had the brick sides repointed, as we thought this might help, and have been advised to leave the dirt bottom as-is, so it can help absorb water in the event of flooding. Has anyone else encountered this, or know of the proper approach for this? We have glue traps and bait that we refresh periodically, but if there is a better/more effective approach we’d like to do what we can, as these suckers are BIG!
