rain water leak

Hi: any recommendations would be appreciated: I just replaced the screen door and regular door to my shed in backyard. However, it appears that some rain water is leaking onto the shed floor. It looks as if it is coming from underneath or around the new door; any recommendations to correct this?

The door should be constructed with some curb or pitch to it sill adequate to prevent water from migrating under the door. Relying on a door seal is a poor practice, water should drain away from the door. If the door has some pitch or curb, it may be possible to help the situation by improving drainage in the area adjacent to the door. If water drains towards a pitch that leads under the door, well, let’s just say it will be an uphill battle.

I’m sorry but I cannot recommend people because I work for Brownstoner. You may want to speak with some general contractors whose experience includes building entire buildings, concrete, structural, etc.

We have this, and there are little corners at the edges of the door that are not airtight or water tight. I think with us the door is not optimally constructed for an exterior door. But weatherproofing can help. Also with these sheds, sometimes the foundation is not properly constructed in the first place and will tilt, which can add to the issues with doors not shutting properly, and water can come in under the walls.
