Questions about skylights
We would like to add 2-3 skylights to the top floor of our bed stuy house- in two of the bedrooms, and center where the staircase landing is. My question is about ventilation and security. Ideally, the ones in the bedrooms would be able to open to provide additional ventilation to those rooms, since each room only has one small window. But I’m assuming this type of skylight is a security issue? Our house is attached on both sides. Is there a work around for this issue that’s not super ugly (ie bars on the skylight)? Thanks!

one more question- do people ever add a fan or air circulator for rooms on the top floor that need more ventilation? IS this legal? mechanically possible? I was just thinking that we could do light and air separately if it’s safer.
