Hi all…. I have been living in my brownstone for over 20 years but JUST noticed – because I am installing a new fence – that the property line at the rear of the house (the backyard) is different from the property lines on ALL the other properties on the block (all of our backyards face each other, obviously). In other words, my yard is smaller than all the neighbors on my side of the street, and the yard for the property across from us is larger than all their corresponding neighbors (by about 2 feet, from my distant estimation). A quick search on the city’s website shows the property lines “lining up” along the entire block. Wondering how I can get definitive clarity on the property lines, as well as how to potentially explore what the options might be to address/correct the current situation, if necessary. Thanks for any advice or recommendations!
