anyone finding anyone that is doing this kind of work in the greater new york area? i want to replace my existing double doors with a new pair that perform to a much higher efficiency standard and thought someone doing that kind of work might be the best place to start. thanks!

Do you mean in the traditional style with modern enhancements? Like double pane and built in weather seal and perhaps insulated panels?

Someone is doing this in this city and i know this because a decade ago someone contacted me to make doors. I proposed run of the mill traditional doors. They were not happy with what i proposed and found someone who made a custom traditional looking modern insulated unit and it really looks the part.

They have worked with landmark before. You can for example have a triple pane transom window that looks like double hung from the outside, where the top part is fixed and the lower half is a tilt&turn
