Hi All – I have few decorative pieces missing on a metal gate. I don’t know what they are called. Attached are photos. Any recommendation on where to find & buy them. Missing 4 of the small round ones and 1 of the large one. Who can I contact to get them installed and the metal gate fixed? The gate does not close properly. You need an ironworker who specializes in cast iron. They will have the parts (or make them), and you can also check out the salvage place in Gowanus in the Lowe’s parking lot — they have a ton of old ironwork. There are quite a number of ironworkers in Brooklyn, but I can’t recommend any because I work for Brownstoner. Please search this forum for cast iron. to see past recommendations from readers.

The “maple leaf” fence is fairly common, you should be able to obtain a salvaged piece. Roy at 70 9th St. (By Lowes) should have some. There are a few different oddball sizes of this style fence out there though, so bring your measurements.
I do have some fence sections for parts that are too far gone if you can’t find it locally.
The missing finials on your gate will have to be custom cast to match or replaced with something else, I don’t think you are going to find them.

I have used Vinnie’s Italian Arts for decorative ironwork. They have done quite a bit of restoration and recreation for me (front gate, newell posts, railings, garden level gate, etc.). They are not cheap, but the quality of their work has been very high.
