NYC Parks sidewalk repairs on landmark blocks
Anyone had the Parks department’s Trees & Sidewalk program fix their sidewalk on a landmarked block that has bluestone? It seems like they are actually about to proceed in several places on our block (they marked all the places with spray paint this morning). But, they have not been in contact with us at all. I’m wondering what they usually do when there is bluestone involved?

We had our sidewalk repaired by the City with the aid of the Parks Dept. We have concrete not blue stone. Tree roots had lifted the pavers like 6 inches. Be prepared for a much larger tree pit. 3X as big as before in our case.

Update: yesterday we received a postcard from DOT (pretty funny because it looks like a holiday card) and it said our sidewalk will be getting repaired soon and actually had a phone number on it if you have questions. The woman I spoke with was extremely nice and said they can’t take away bluestone, so that will just get leveled, and they will be working with the parks department on the job (much of the damage on our block is from tree pit roots). I’ll keep updating as it goes because I think this will be interesting for anyone else who goes through this.
