So, the house next door to mine has been vacant for a few years. The seller of mine had told me that years ago there were issues with illegal work being done causing cracks in the foundation here, and there were was once a police raid due to nefarious activities (which neighbors confirmed). So I became curious … the ACRIS data is interesting and confusing, and I’m wondering if anyone has an idea of what might be going on.

The entire lot+house was bought in the mid 2000’s, and throughout that time until about 2012 or so we see a few mortgages taken out / satisfied. Then, around 2012 we see the deed transferred from him (let’s call him John Doe) to a Corp., then back from the Corp to him about two years later. Then we see it transferred from him to an LLC 6 months later. Then, we see a UCC1, then we see a Sundry agreement with the name of a construction firm, then we see the LLC transfer the deed back to him very recently.

What might be going on?

As an aside: the LLC mentioned above I needed to contact due to a squatter situation, and they were a developm ent company. Why would they transfer the deed back to him? If I’m honest, I’m a little bummed that the shady character still has possession of the home.
