For the past year I have been visiting houses in Brooklyn taking pictures of the floors. I go to open houses and take house tours. Before I created the site I was unable to find any resources on floor borders. So I created the site for me and others to use.

Cool! Our 1909 Flatbush 2-family has Greek Keys in the front two rooms, plain solid line in the middle bedroom, and the “Square Fold” 3d ribbons in the back dining room. Other houses in our row of 7 have different patterns. Nice to see them placed in their historical context. Somewhere online I saw a public domain scan of a flooring company catalog from this period.

BTW if you really want to go the distance, consider that a site like this could be created for mantels, window trim, front doors, door knobs, all kinds of goodies!

What a great website! I think I have that wood carpet in my place. The slats are very thin.
