Multifamily Intercom System Reccs?

Hi, I own a 4 family building in Prospect Heights with an outdated, often non-functioning intercom system which predates my purchase of the building 20 years ago. I want to put in a new video system which will allow tenants to see who is ringing their doorbell, and one which will allow them to buzz someone in.

I spoke with one company rep who mentioned wireless systems, but given that I don’t provide wireless to the building, am not sure how that would work.

Have you installed such a multi-family system in the past couple of years?

Which brand of hardware did you go with?

Do you have an installation company or individual to recommend?

I used Lock & Tech for a ten unit hard wired retrofit installation. I thought they did an excellent job. ‭I preferred hardwired since some tenants would would have trouble using a cell phone interface, I could get a remote entry for myself at a later date, and I would need an always active internet connection for a wireless system (and my Spectrum internet goes out for short periods of time frequently). https://lockandtech.com/, service@lockandtech.com, (877) 715-6252

Did you ask if the wireless would just communicate between its own devices? Not via computers, wifi or a hub that you would provide?

The thing about wired is, if the existing things are wired and that wiring is still good, 2/3rd of your work is done.
